A hydrocyclone can be used to separate 1mm polysteryne diameter plastic particles using the same separation principles as centrifugation. More information on the physical hydrocyclone, the findings on effectivess and experimental footage is available on the dedicated page.
BSc Thesis awarded with 8.5/10.
The data extraction is done experimentally.
Data visualization is done with Python.
The pressure in the nozzle of a supersonic jet is high. Due to lower atmospheric pressure, the jet expands, which can be characterized by expansion waves. Eventually, these expansion waves form into a shock wave. The Method of Characteristics is used to simulate this. More information about the derivation and code is available on the dedicated page.
Plot and calculations are made using MATLAB.
This project focusses on the temperature distribution in a 2D duct with strong advection effects. The goal of the project is to find the steady-state temperature profile and the effect of increasing the grid resolution. More details on the grid, derivations and code is available on the dedicated page.
Plot and calculations are made using Python.
There are many algorithms to find the quickest path of a maze. A computationally heavy one is by using the diffusion of a gas. By setting the concentration constant at the start and at the finish, the concentration gradient will lead to the fastest way to the exit. More information about the code and plots can is available on the dedicated page.
Plot and calculations are made using Python.
